NOTD: Revlon Lilac Pastelle

Quite disapointed in this polish for a few reasons!

First of all, the name 'Lilac Pastelle' I mean come on, in what way is this lilac? This wouldn't bother me so much IF Revlons lip gloss in 'Lilac Pastelle' was the same colour and was therefore, intentional, but this does not match that light lilac/lavender lip gloss at all. I am disappoint.

In my photos I tried really hard to capture the tiniest lilac hue to it but the reality is this is just a very light, basic pink cream that takes quite a few coats to be opaque. I can't remember the number unfortunately!

I had a bit of an issue with drying (but I do think i was in a rush and didn't give it enough chance) so by the time I had gone out to the car, I had huge dents on the tips. :c I removed it when I got back home.

Aside from the misleading name and odd drying time (which may have been my own fault) this made my nails look very long, pretty and elegant. It was a bit too girly for me in some ways but I can see this being a favourite light pink for some.

In the end, I left this in USA when I returned to the UK as I knew I wouldn't need it.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Paradise

Like many fellow British people, spelling colours without the U is a bit odd, like if I was little and they removed it from a crayola box or something. I'd be like. What is this...I don't even...

But aside from that little detail, I love Sinful Colors :p

Paradise is a beautiful shade and applies so well, I'm a bit confused as to why I wore it and enjoyed it - and then left it in the states when I came home. Oh well! It's a bright, basic blue with no shimmer but a high shine. At $2 you really can't go wrong. Well done Sinful.

NOTD: Essie Topless & Barefoot

Not much to say other than LOVE! This is the best nude nail polish that has ever worked for me, it's pale without being ghostly (thanks to it's pink undertone, suits me very well) and it's opaque. It isn't yellow or tan or beige or orange, it's perfect, for once! Now I just need to find this in lipstick/lipgloss form and I'm all set (yeah, right...)
Creamy, opaque in two coats and applies flawlessly - I'm really starting to like Essie. This shade is so muted and beautiful, perfect for making your nails look polished and professional (so a good choice for work/school/special occasions) understated but not plain. I've already worn it again!

I love it, do you?

NOTD: Essie French Affair

I only have two proper opaque cream pinks in my whole collection, OPI's Pandamonium Pink and this Essie's French Affair. Both are very similar in that they have a slight lilac undertone that comes through in certain lights very well. Pandamonium Pink is, however, a lot dustier and not as bright pink as French Affair is, with a little more empathises on the lilac hue. Since I have grown to love Pandamonium Pink, wearing French Affair was like wearing a more girly version and that being said I have also grown to really like this pink. I'm not a huge pink fan (it's not really me so to speak) so it's nice to battle against that sometimes and wear something different!

Both shades apply very well - which is why I don't think I need anymore cream pinks - I'm fine with what I have now. They are slightly streaky on one coat but for the most part perfect in two/three and since I don't really like pink usually if they were a bother (which they're not) I wouldn't bother anyway, so I would recommend them.

Bear in mind the purple/lilac cool undertone, it may not be flattering on everyone...

NOTD: Not So Blueberry

I've been inactive, I'm so sorry!
Back to uploading loads of holiday posts, this should be fun. :3

I wore this near the start of July, a pretty purple/blue with a foil finish (streaked a bit but not horribly) and since it is a scented nail polish by Revlon, Not So Blueberry did smell quite yummy!
Very carppy picture, I know. I forgot to take a bottle shot - plus this was a nightmare to capture, it kept turning up way too BLUE! It's actually more purple, le sigh.

NOTD: Milani Cyberspace (blue holographic!)

Super pretty. So sorry for the really bad pictures! They don't do it justice. This isn't a 'true' holo I'm sorry to say but I still love it. In the sunlight the holo shows up a lot more as well as when you move your nails around. It's a lovely silvery blue and it applies well in 3 coats, although 2 coats is far too sheer and you can see the nail line if you hold it up to the light, you know? I still love it, have I said that enough? Can't wait to try out Hi-Res! ^^

NOTD: China Glaze Pelican Grey

Today I have an old NOTD post for you guys! Sorry, life is so hectic at the moment.
This is a nail polish from the Anchors Away collection by China Glaze, Pelican Grey.
A lovely shade of grey and applies well in two coats. If you look closely there is a very nice, but delicate, micro-shimmer that gives the polish a little bit of depth. I love this grey and it has satisfied my craving for one in my collection! ^^

NOTD: Nails Inc Havana from Dove & Nails Inc The Beauty Collection (swatches)

Last night I caught up on all most of my blog posts apart from my NOTD's ^^ I haven't seen anything really about Havana, only Copacabana, at all and this offer has been on for about 4days now? I'm so surprised that more bloggers haven't posted!

Not as surprised, however, as when I got my hands on this polish! I was anticipating a sheer, creamy pastel pink that I could probably pass up, what I got instead was a beautiful and very unique polish in my own collection. ^^
To me this is a rosy/pink fudge coloured polish which can appear a little bit like a nude. It's such an interesting colour and this took 3 coats to apply (it's quite sheer) to get the above NOTD. What makes this polish so special as well is the delicate rosy/golden pink flash of shimmer that shows up as you roll the bottle of nail polish and if you look closely you can definitely see this on your nails. My picture is not anything to go on for this, sadly. It's far more noticeable in artificial orange/yellow light at night and it bright sunlight though, as you would expect!

I hope this was helpful for anybody looking for a Havana NOTD/swatch as I personally found nothing online myself! ^-^

NOTD & Magazine Freebies: Instyle & Nails Inc (Electric Teal/Fashion Fawn)

Pay £3.70 (not as good as the glamour magazine's deal!) for a copy of Instyle and get a free Nails Inc Polish worth £11! The first one I got my hands on was Electric Teal! A lovely (but darker than I expected) teal. It came in a black box with the nail polish sticker name on the top, peeled it off and stuck it to the bottom of the bottle so I wouldn't forget. :)

Quite hard to photograph, not impossible though. Lovely creamy formula - 1 coater as always Nails Inc, with another to even it out! In most lights this appeared as a darker blue on my skintone but in others the green really showed up. I'm so happy I finally have a dark teal - not very electric as you can see.

Next I grabbed ''Fashion Fawn'' which on most people is the perfect greige shade, on my pale skin though this pulls very murky brown! Despite the oddness on my skintone, I quite like this one.

Application was the same as teal mostly, a bit sheerer though. 2 Coats!
What do you think? Last NOTD of the night!

NOTD: Essie ''Mint Candy Apple no.702''

Second NOTD of the night, Mint Candy Apple is a lovely minty colour which is very hard to photograph! This is a very popular shade, though I wouldn't agree with what many people say about it. Whilst it is a lovely colour, I don't think it is a ''pure'' mint. In different lighting, this pulls very blue - almost cyan - and minty in others.

It's really bright too, as you can see, thankfully it wasn't too unforgiving on my pale skin!

NOTD: Barry M ''Berry Ice cream no. 308''

Popped this on the night before an exam as I was so tired from revising and needed a little relaxation! This is a lovely shade which I have worn before, very easy formula and great price!

I think it would suit a lot of skintones, what do you think?

By the way, this was from a week or so back. So sorry that I haven't been updating - been super busy! I'll have a few NOTD posts up tonight from previous...well, NOTDs. ^^

NOTD: Barry M ''Blue Moon'' no. 317

Today I have a NOTD post from awhile back, I've been super busy!

This is the second new nail paint from Barry M, number 317 Blue Moon. I prefer Peach Melba to this but this is still a lovely colour! You can't tell by my crappy swatch but It has a lovely bright blue shimmer running through it that transfers to the nail. ^^ A perfect spring colour.

Application is so-so, It's very sheer so it needs 3 coats to reach full opacity. At least it isn't too thick instead!

NOTD: Barry M 318 Peach Melba ^^

Peach Melba no. 318
High street brand Barry M has released two new nail paints to add to their huge range in celebration for Spring. The one I have for review today is Peach Melba, a lovely peach polish with just enough pink in it to avoid being too orange. I was surprised at how much I loved this one although it may not be everyones cup of tea! Nail Paints are currently on 2 for £4.99 (saving of about a quid)

Normal lighting in my bathroom (lol)

Applied nicely in two coats, maybe with another one to even it out if you prefer to use sheer coats and dried fairly quickly. This is a perfect colour for Spring and even my pale skin can handle it. :)

Bright direct sunlight from window inside.

What do you think? ^^

Until Next Time,
