NOTD: Revlon Lilac Pastelle

Quite disapointed in this polish for a few reasons!

First of all, the name 'Lilac Pastelle' I mean come on, in what way is this lilac? This wouldn't bother me so much IF Revlons lip gloss in 'Lilac Pastelle' was the same colour and was therefore, intentional, but this does not match that light lilac/lavender lip gloss at all. I am disappoint.

In my photos I tried really hard to capture the tiniest lilac hue to it but the reality is this is just a very light, basic pink cream that takes quite a few coats to be opaque. I can't remember the number unfortunately!

I had a bit of an issue with drying (but I do think i was in a rush and didn't give it enough chance) so by the time I had gone out to the car, I had huge dents on the tips. :c I removed it when I got back home.

Aside from the misleading name and odd drying time (which may have been my own fault) this made my nails look very long, pretty and elegant. It was a bit too girly for me in some ways but I can see this being a favourite light pink for some.

In the end, I left this in USA when I returned to the UK as I knew I wouldn't need it.

NOTD: Essie Coat Azure

Grabbed this for about $4.50 on sale in Walgreens. Wasn't planning to buy this colour but really glad I did. It's a medium blue with gorgeous silver sheen/shimmer throughout, giving it a different finish to a cream. Applies brilliantly - almost perfect in one coat, so much so that you could just walk out the door with one coat and not feel self conscious about your nails.

Sinful Colors Haul

Check the previous post for oddness, if you so wish.

L-R: Beverly Hills
(?gave to friend so not sure?), Paradise , teal without a brush lol , Queen of Beauty, Nail Junkie, What's Your Name.

Swatches/NOTD will be uploaded eventually, each was $2 although I got them at 3 for 5$ or something in Walgreens.

Sinful Colors are you missing something? >:/

Since I hauled all these Sinful Colors (post coming up next) I had to say...I'm a bit confused about this one..

This teal shade came without a brush, I can't tell you the name - we returned it the next day after I opened it to swatch and found that nail polish flooded over my fingers and out the cap. I thought, hey, maybe the brush fell out. Nope. The brush never even existed. Not even a little bit, completely gone!

Has anyone ever had this problem? I didn't replace the shade which is a shame, it was really quite pretty, but nothing that I hadn't seen before so I just took the cash and ran.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Paradise

Like many fellow British people, spelling colours without the U is a bit odd, like if I was little and they removed it from a crayola box or something. I'd be like. What is this...I don't even...

But aside from that little detail, I love Sinful Colors :p

Paradise is a beautiful shade and applies so well, I'm a bit confused as to why I wore it and enjoyed it - and then left it in the states when I came home. Oh well! It's a bright, basic blue with no shimmer but a high shine. At $2 you really can't go wrong. Well done Sinful.

NOTD: Essie Topless & Barefoot

Not much to say other than LOVE! This is the best nude nail polish that has ever worked for me, it's pale without being ghostly (thanks to it's pink undertone, suits me very well) and it's opaque. It isn't yellow or tan or beige or orange, it's perfect, for once! Now I just need to find this in lipstick/lipgloss form and I'm all set (yeah, right...)
Creamy, opaque in two coats and applies flawlessly - I'm really starting to like Essie. This shade is so muted and beautiful, perfect for making your nails look polished and professional (so a good choice for work/school/special occasions) understated but not plain. I've already worn it again!

I love it, do you?

NOTD: Not So Blueberry

I've been inactive, I'm so sorry!
Back to uploading loads of holiday posts, this should be fun. :3

I wore this near the start of July, a pretty purple/blue with a foil finish (streaked a bit but not horribly) and since it is a scented nail polish by Revlon, Not So Blueberry did smell quite yummy!
Very carppy picture, I know. I forgot to take a bottle shot - plus this was a nightmare to capture, it kept turning up way too BLUE! It's actually more purple, le sigh.

NYC & Sinful Colors

It's so weird spelling colours as 'colors'! But whatever, I love this brand so it's alright! I picked up NYC's Starry Silver glitter polish since it had large blue ..sequin thingies? I think it's alright so far. I also got the green polish from Sinful Colors in Rise and Shine and the fuchsia/blue glitter in Frenzy. Very pretty.

Mini Essie Nail Polish Haul

Not really a haul when it only includes two polishes! I got my hands on Essie's French Affair & Coat Azure on clearance in a Walgreens store for about $4.19 ea. I have to say I hate, with a passion, the drugstore packaging - the white Essie stickers are horrible! I actually peeled off all the stickers and pulled the one off the top with it's name and put it underneath on the bottom of the bottle because they make Essie's adorable packaging look cheap. I definitely prefer the original Essie packaging from salons but these were on sale -shrugs- so I guess I'll have to lump the horrible name labels. Even though these are the drugstore packaged versions, the quality is still there, with Coat Azure being a pretty much one coater. French Affair reminds me a bit of OPI Pandamonium Pink, that slightly strange pink that changes slightly in different lighting's but we'll have to see. Coat Azure is such a pretty blue with a silver shimmer running throughout, very noticeable and not at all chunky. Just a shine.

OPI: Serena Glam Slam!

For $14.95 in a outlet mall, I purchased the OPI Serena Glam Slam duo. This includes the infamous white shatter and Spark De Triomphe polishes. Whilst I think shatter polishes are so-so, I have had many compliments wearing this combination, and the glitter polish is beautiful.

White shatter is what I wish all white polishes were - opaque in one coat (albeit, it does shatter after a few seconds!) whereas Spark De Triomphe is just stunning. It's a really nice shade of gold, not too in your face and good in 2-3coats I would say. You can get away with just 2 if you're using the shatter over top. It has different sized glitters in it and can pull slightly silver at times whilst still being a gold, if that makes sense?

These were the only two pictures I managed to get as I forgot to take a bottle shot. Please ignore the excess polish and unevenness.

Sorry! Relaxing is making me very forgetful, as well as illiterate.

NOTD: Nails Inc Havana from Dove & Nails Inc The Beauty Collection (swatches)

Last night I caught up on all most of my blog posts apart from my NOTD's ^^ I haven't seen anything really about Havana, only Copacabana, at all and this offer has been on for about 4days now? I'm so surprised that more bloggers haven't posted!

Not as surprised, however, as when I got my hands on this polish! I was anticipating a sheer, creamy pastel pink that I could probably pass up, what I got instead was a beautiful and very unique polish in my own collection. ^^
To me this is a rosy/pink fudge coloured polish which can appear a little bit like a nude. It's such an interesting colour and this took 3 coats to apply (it's quite sheer) to get the above NOTD. What makes this polish so special as well is the delicate rosy/golden pink flash of shimmer that shows up as you roll the bottle of nail polish and if you look closely you can definitely see this on your nails. My picture is not anything to go on for this, sadly. It's far more noticeable in artificial orange/yellow light at night and it bright sunlight though, as you would expect!

I hope this was helpful for anybody looking for a Havana NOTD/swatch as I personally found nothing online myself! ^-^

What do you think?

Dove & Nails Inc ~ The Beauty Collection (& Swatches)

Everybody has been going on about this certain freebie and no wonder! Simply buy two of the selected Dove deodorants (retailing from about £1.95-£3.32) and get a free Nails Inc polish! ^^
I bought the Dove Beauty Finish roll on, Invisible Dry roll on & spray and the original Dove Roll on. I would have bought another aerosol, as they are what I use on a daily basis, but I was tight on cash and would have spent over £10 if I had. I needed a roll on for traveling this Summer anyway so it's a win-win situation! This cost me £9.37 in total.

Havana

This really surprised me! It had been advertised as a lovely creamy pastel pink but to me this is totally different and I'm so glad that it isn't just a boring sheer pink. To me, this appears like a 'fudge' coloured polish with a definite pinky tone. There is also an amazing rosy/golden pink flash of shimmer that shows up as you roll the bottle around, it's beautiful. Although quite sheer, I think this will be good in about 3 coats as the swatch below was with 2. Sadly I won't have a proper picture of this until I do a NOTD, maybe tomorrow?

Copacabana

I wasn't sure about either of these polishes at the start until I saw Ms Bubu's post and then later her NOTD which made the colour look stunning!
Don't get me wrong - it's beautiful - but I was a bit disappointed at first as it appeared very bright neon pinky orange and actually reminded me of this sort of modelling clay I had when I was younger. It is, however, unique within my collection and it looks more muted when swatched but still a wonderfully strange corally/pink orange colour that I really love. This will be the perfect pedicure colour, now I just have to make the horrible decision of what to choose from my collection to wear for when I go out to Florida on holiday!

L-R: Denny Leighton Do Me a Favour, Viva La Diva, Nails Inc: Copacabana, Havana

Did a little comparison of swatches for you all as, try as I might, I couldn't take a picture of these polishes at all! They are so difficult, hopefully when I do a NOTD I'll be able to get a decent enough picture to capture them correctly. :/ I have to say I think I'll be popping Havana on my fingernails and Copacabana on my toes to replace Viva La Diva as I'm so excited! ^^

What do you think? Will you be picking any of these up? *-^
